Join the legal case against the FBA Brand Builder

On 23rd January 2025, Phoenix Law announced the launch of a group action against Darren Campbell and his FBA Brand Builder (FBABB) programme. The legal action comes in response to growing evidence of predatory practices, misleading marketing, and financial mismanagement that have left many clients drowning in debt and disillusioned.

This development builds on the momentum sparked by a growing community of former clients and investigative reports, including our article from 20th January urging FBABB clients to speak out. Together, these efforts are driving a push for accountability and justice.

Phoenix Law’s Statement: Turning Up the Heat on FBABB

Phoenix Law’s group action is based on serious allegations against FBABB, including:

  • Encouraging Reckless Financial Behaviour: Clients were allegedly advised to max out credit cards, take out personal loans, and even set up businesses as charities to avoid U.S. taxes—tactics that exposed them to major legal and financial risks.

  • Exploiting Vulnerabilities: FBABB’s marketing preyed on participants’ hopes and dreams, promising “life-changing income” while conveniently glossing over the harsh realities of business expenses and razor-thin profit margins.

  • Silencing Critics: Darren Campbell and his team have been accused of using legal threats to intimidate dissatisfied clients, effectively suppressing legitimate complaints and constructive feedback.

Diarmuid Brecknell, a lawyer at Phoenix Law, didn’t mince words, calling the practices "predatory":

“Participants trusted the programme to provide reliable guidance, but instead, many were left facing financial ruin and potential legal consequences. Mr. Campbell purposely brands the product as something that allows you to make money fast and spend more time with your loved ones. This is predatory advertising that seeks to exploit people’s best intentions.”

The History of FBABB’s Legal and Ethical Issues

This isn’t the first time Darren Campbell and FBABB have been accused of unethical behaviour. Over the past two years, the programme has been mired in controversies that reveal a disturbing pattern of systemic failures:

  • Fake Trustpilot Reviews: In late 2024, Trustpilot removed 65 fake reviews after uncovering Darren Campbell’s use of fabricated testimonials to boost FBABB’s image. Trustpilot also issued a warning against FBABB for intimidating reviewers with legal threats.

  • ASA Complaints: FBABB has faced multiple complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for misleading marketing. Promises of “fast results” and “guaranteed success” have come under fire, particularly given the financial struggles many clients have experienced.

  • PPC Outsourcing Scandal: Earlier this month, we revealed that FBABB outsourced its PPC management to underpaid freelancers, without informing clients. Despite charging £150/month for “expert” PPC support, these freelancers were often poorly managed or even unpaid.

  • Fraudulent Trademark Filings: In 2024, our investigation exposed that FBABB used an unqualified individual, Maria Zafar, to file U.S. trademarks for clients, leaving them vulnerable to legal issues.

These recurring issues make it clear that the group action led by Phoenix Law isn’t just an isolated challenge—it’s a response to years of systemic mismanagement and exploitation within FBABB.

The Role of the Community in Driving Accountability

The push for accountability against FBABB didn’t start with Phoenix Law—it was powered by a wave of clients coming forward to share their stories and demand justice.

In our January 20th article, “The Clients Strike Back: How You Can Help Take on FBABB,” we urged clients to complete Phoenix Law’s confidential questionnaire. The community’s overwhelming response has not only bolstered the legal team’s case but also provided critical evidence to expose FBABB’s practices.

Every story shared strengthens the collective voice calling for change. As Phoenix Law emphasised, this fight goes beyond financial restitution—it’s about protecting future clients from falling prey to FBABB’s exploitative tactics.

What This Means for FBABB’s Future

As the group action gains momentum, FBABB’s reputation is facing unprecedented scrutiny. A programme once marketed as a gateway to financial freedom is now in danger of becoming a cautionary tale for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The stakes are just as high for Darren Campbell. With Phoenix Law referring FBABB to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the PSNI, the legal and financial risks for Campbell continue to escalate. This case has the potential to set a powerful precedent for holding predatory mentorship programmes accountable in the UK and beyond.

If you’ve been part of the FBABB programme and feel misled or financially harmed, joining the group action is a vital chance to seek justice.

  • Deadline to Join: The deadline to complete the questionnaire and join the group action is 27th January 2025.
  • Confidentiality: All information shared with Phoenix Law will remain strictly confidential, ensuring your privacy throughout the process.

For those still on the fence, remember this case is about more than just recouping losses. Your participation could help protect future entrepreneurs from falling victim to the same predatory tactics.

Let's Bring The Fight to Darren Campbell

This group action isn’t just about financial compensation—it’s about taking a stand against the predatory business practices that have plagued the mentorship industry for far too long. Programmes like FBABB have thrived on aggressive marketing, hidden fees, and empty promises, profiting at the expense of their clients.

If you’ve ever felt silenced, unsupported, or exploited by FBABB, now is the time to take action. Join the growing movement to hold Darren Campbell and his team accountable.

As Darren gears up to launch a “refreshed” version of FBABB, there’s little reason to believe it will address the glaring issues that have pushed his current programme to the edge. History suggests it’s more likely a rebranding attempt designed to distract from past failures.

For Darren Campbell and FBABB, the clock is ticking. With Phoenix Law stepping in, the programme’s days of operating in the shadows may finally be coming to an end.

If you’re ready to be part of this landmark case, complete the Phoenix Law questionnaire today. The deadline is fast approaching—don’t miss your chance to seek justice and make your voice heard.
