The ClickFunnels 2 Comma Club Award: Separating Revenue from Profit
Darren Campbell, like many FBA gurus, loves showcasing his ClickFunnels 2 Comma Club Award to boast about hitting £1 million in revenue. But there’s more to the story than meets the eye.

Darren Campbell, like many FBA gurus, often highlights achievements like the ClickFunnels 2 Comma Club Award as proof of his success. This award recognizes those who’ve generated over £1 million in revenue through a sales funnel in a single year. But here’s the thing: revenue is not the same as profit. So while Darren might claim millionaire status, those numbers reflect sales—not the cash he actually keeps after covering expenses.

What’s Really Behind This Award?

The award itself celebrates revenue generated using ClickFunnels, a popular sales funnel platform, but it skips over all the major costs that impact actual profit, including:

  • Advertising and Marketing Costs: A big chunk of that revenue often goes into ads on platforms like Google and Facebook. For FBA sellers, this can take a significant bite out of profits.
  • Product Expenses: In FBA, businesses often have to buy large quantities of inventory upfront. These costs don’t show up in those million-dollar revenue snapshots.
  • Shipping and Fulfillment Costs: Selling on Amazon means paying for fulfillment fees, shipping, and storage—expenses that further reduce profits.
  • Other Operational Expenses: Besides ads and products, there are software, staffing, and other operational costs that add up quickly.

The Reality of FBA Gurus' Wealth

A lot of FBA "gurus" lean heavily on their revenue numbers to give the impression of personal wealth, but what’s really going on? Social media is filled with photos of fancy cars, lavish vacations, and luxury watches, all designed to paint a picture of success. Yet, many of these gurus rent items like Lamborghinis just to bolster their image and draw in more clients. In fact, much of their wealth often comes from selling pricey courses, not from their Amazon businesses.

In Darren's case, he attributes his ClickFunnels achievement to his FBA Brand Builder program, which helps clients launch brands on Amazon. But how much of that revenue is actually from his personal business, and how much comes from his clients? As one commenter, Kyle Scott, pointed out: “I would be a millionaire too if I got £6,500 from every person who thinks they’re gonna be an entrepreneur with Darren’s masterclass.” It’s a fair criticism—Kyle also highlighted that Darren’s success on Amazon itself might not be as impressive as he claims. And, according to Scott, “Darren hasn’t made a penny off Amazon FBA, and the details on Companies House and the US Amazon market don’t match his claims.”

Revenue vs. Riches: Spotting the Red Flags

Revenue reflects the total money brought in before any costs are taken out, while profit is what remains after all expenses. Many gurus, including Darren, tend to highlight big revenue numbers without explaining what’s left after covering costs.

Some questions worth asking when you come across these claims include:

  • Is this revenue purely from product sales, or do additional services contribute?
  • After ad spend, product costs, and shipping, what are the profit margins?
  • How much is being reinvested in inventory and growth?
  • Are they combining client sales to boost their revenue numbers?
  • Is there proof of long-term business stability, or is this just a revenue spike?

Be Cautious of Flashy Lifestyles

It’s easy for gurus to rent luxury cars or post vacation photos to build an image of success. Darren’s posts are no different, with mentions of Lamborghinis and fancy travel. But often, the reality behind the scenes isn’t as glamorous. For many FBA gurus, the real money isn’t from Amazon sales but from selling courses to aspiring entrepreneurs.

In an October 2023 post, Darren claimed: “£2 million later, owner of 12 other businesses... A SELF MADE FUCKING MILLIONAIRE!!” However, without transparency around expenses, profit margins, or contributions from clients, it’s wise to take the claim that revenue equals personal wealth with a grain of salt.

The Takeaway: Revenue numbers might be impressive, but true success is in the profit. Before assuming someone’s revenue translates to financial freedom, dig into the real numbers. And when considering business coaching or courses, always prioritize transparency.
